How we got here
We started as a local credit union in Bath seventy years ago. In that time, we’ve grown as the community around us has grown. As people’s needs have changed, we’ve evolved. We’ve expanded into new areas of service, reached out into more communities, and stayed on top of technological and social change. All without ever losing sight of why we’re here.

1956
Employees of Bath Iron Works form their own credit union. Savings were kept in a lunchbox.
1993
Our name changes to BIW Five County Credit Union to reflect our growth.
2001
Our name is further streamlined to Five County Credit Union, acknowledging our expansion into more communities.
2007
We celebrate 50 years of service by opening a call center.
2016
Julie A. Marquis takes office as President & CEO.
2025
Our evolution and growth inspires a rebrand to better reflect who we are today.

CO-OP ATM Network
Access over 35,000 ATMs nationwide. Plus, we reimburse ATM surcharge fees nightly for any fees incurred at non-CO-OP credit union ATMs in Maine.
